Blue Ridge Regional Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce the installment of the newest artwork as a part of the Healing Arts Program. Installed on Tuesday, January 29, the glass "river stones" artwork was especially designed for Blue Ridge Regional Hospital by Jennifer and Thor Bueno of Bueno Glass, Spruce Pine.
The 8th grade students of Bowman Middle School in Bakersville, NC partnered with the Blue Ridge Regional Hospital Foundation's Healing Arts Program and Penland School of Crafts to produce the 2013 Wishing Wellness Art Show.
For two weeks in May, BRRH employees created a collaborative mixed media work of art titled Remapping the Mountain. Led by Peg Gignoux, textile artist, employees dyed silk, sketched, collaged and stitched images of flowers, plants, animals, and words of inspiration onto maps of the region.
The Hard Hat Gala, this year’s Blue Ridge Regional Hospital Foundation fundraiser, grossed $40,000 for the new medical office building at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital through tickets sales, auction sales, and sponsorships.
